How are you involved with Casson & Friends?

I have been involved with Casson & Friends since 2017, when I first took part in a choreographic observer-ship with Tim during his creation of Night at the Theatre. I shadowed rehearsals in London and then saw the process of bringing it from studio to theatre at DanceEast. I then took part in my first The Dance WE Made at Ipswich Maritime Festival in 2017. Since then I have been part of #TDWM for most seasons across the past three years in London and Suffolk. I was lucky enough to even do it this summer despite the odds! Most recently I created Tiny Dance Suffolk at the end of 2020 which was a really lovely way to round up the year and be creative in a studio, working with some wonderful people.

What do you love about dance?

I love that dancing is so innate within human beings, whether some people admit it or not! It is such a natural way of communicating and can be really accessible for everyone. It is an incredible feeling to move with people and share that connectivity, whether that be in a studio, stage, street, club or your kitchen! I have been really privileged to be involved with dance in many different ways and have so many rich experiences with fellow makers, creatives and communities and it is such a pleasure to share this love for moving with wider communities through Casson & Friends work.

What song always makes you dance?

There are so many….currently; Time (You and I) by Khruangabin but also To Be Real by Cheryl Lynn - ALWAYS!

What else are you working on at the moment?

In light of the Pandemic I have actually started studying again, I am doing a Master in Curating Contemporary Art at Royal College of Art. I am really hoping to be able to see some live music and dance in crowds of people in the not so distant future…..
