Following on from Casson & Friends’ visit to Leeds with ’The Dance WE Made’ in January 2015, Yorkshire Dance and Trinity Leeds brought the project back in June, and on a larger scale than ever before!
“Immersive Dance at it’s Best”
Bringing together a group truly reflective of the city’s diversity, Casson & Friends worked with 40 participants from all over Leeds, to create a large scale pop-up performance in Trinity Leeds in just one week.
Having never met before, the 40 participants met at 12pm on Saturday 30th May and met to create and rehearse throughout the week, before giving a performance to an audience of unsuspecting Trinity shoppers exactly one week later!
The 40 strong cast consisted of recent graduates, young dancers, dancers over 50 years old, self confessed 'non-dancers' and member's of Yorkshire dance's integrated performance company.
Thanks to all the participants, support staff, the Yorkshire Dance team, all at Trinity Leeds and everyone who contributed their stories, moves and ideas to the project! Without it, this wouldn't be The Dance LEEDS Made!
